How Agriovrim Controls the Quality of Every Wheel

At Agriovrim, quality is not a department — it is a system that runs through the entire production process. From the steel we purchase to the packaging we ship, every step is inspected, recorded, and traceable. This article walks you through our complete quality control system.

1. Raw Material: A Good Wheel Starts with Good Steel

Our rim steel is sourced from Baosteel 380CL, one of the most trusted steel grades for wheel rims and discs in China. But buying good steel is not enough — every batch must be verified.

Each time a batch of raw material arrives, our quality department laser-cuts samples for tensile strength and chemical composition testing, and retains samples for more than three years.

If a problem ever appears later, we can trace it completely: we analyze both the raw material and the process. If the raw material is found to be at fault, the steel mill bears the compensation — our retained samples and records are the evidence.

2. First-Piece Retention: Keeping Batch Accuracy Under Control

At the start of every production day, the quality department fully inspects the first piece and keeps it as a sample. During production, pieces are sampled at regular intervals and compared with the first piece. At the end of the day, the last piece is compared with the first piece again — ensuring the accuracy of the entire batch stays within control range.

Samples are also retained from different batches of the same product for cross-batch comparison. These samples serve another purpose: monitoring die accuracy. Dies are regularly maintained and tested. Once measurements move outside the normal range, the die needs servicing — the problem is caught before it affects your order.

3. Marking & Traceability: Every Wheel Has Its Own “ID Card”

Every wheel is marked with brand, model, date, and production team. With this marking, any wheel can be traced back to its exact production date and team. If quality feedback ever comes in, we can pinpoint the exact stage of the problem.

4. Production Process: Every Step Is Under Control

Each wheel is built through a series of proven, controlled processes:

Rim: Blanking → Coiling → Flattening → Butt welding → Slag removal → Rolling → End cutting → Grinding → Flaring → Roll forming → Expanding → Valve hole punching

Disc: Blanking → Flattening → Forming → Edge trimming → Punching → Vertical turning

Assembly: Press fitting → Online run-out measurement → Spot welding → Full welding → Submerged arc welding

Coating: Acid pickling & phosphating → E-coating (18–20 μm) → Top paint (18–20 μm); available in solvent-based, water-based, or powder coating

5. Plasma Cutting: Cleaner Edges, Better Performance

All blanking, center holes, and bolt holes are made with plasma cutting. Compared with traditional compound die punching, plasma cutting leaves no burrs or flash, delivers better overall performance, and gives a cleaner appearance.

6. Heat Treatment: Precise Temperature, No Color Difference

Wheels stay in the furnace for an effective time of 40–45 minutes, with temperature variation controlled within about 5°C. To match the color customers require, our technicians fine-tune temperature according to product color, thickness, size, and even the season, preventing color differences between batches.

7. Welding: More Stable, Safer, Cleaner

We weld with argon mixed-gas shielded welding. Compared with traditional CO₂ welding, argon offers better stability and safety. Although the cost is higher, it produces smooth, bright weld seams, with fewer weld spatter and slag than traditional welding — cleaner seams and more reliable strength.

8. Packaging & Shipping: Protection to the Last Mile

Custom clamps: We make custom PE clamping devices following the curve of each wheel rim, preventing wear during transport. PE clamps are recyclable, crush-resistant, and not easy to break — strong protection that supports long-distance shipping.

Monitored staging area: Packed products are stored in designated areas, and each area is equipped with surveillance cameras. Managers review the areas daily to ensure the quality and condition of every product awaiting shipment remains under control.

9. Certifications

Our quality system is backed by internationally recognized certifications:

ISO 9001 · VIA · CE · TUV · DOT · IATF 16949

These certifications are not wall decorations — they are standards we are audited against and maintain every year.

Quality Is a Process, Not a Promise

From Baosteel 380CL raw material and three-year sample retention, to first-piece control, full traceability, plasma cutting, precise heat treatment, argon welding, and monitored shipping — every step at Agriovrim serves one goal: a reliable wheel, and a partner you can trust.
